Secretariat is the body that manages Cursillo in the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham. The current members of the Secretariat and their roles are as follows:

Spiritual Director - Revd Matthew Askey
Revd Matthew Askey is School Chaplain at Worksop College, north Nottinghamshire. Fr Askey trained first in fine art, and has practised as both an artist and an art educator for 25 years, and was previously school chaplain at Southwell Minster. Fr Matthew leads study days, quiet days and lectures in art and faith.
Lay Director - Michelle Greenberry
Michelle is a member of Toton churches, where C of E and Methodist congregations work together in the community. She went to a few Ultreyas and loved the people and methodology, which was cemented in May 2011 when she attended her weekend at Bawtry Hall. The weekend and Cursillo family have encouraged Michelle to test where God is leading and in Oct 2014 she was licensed as a Reader.
Michelle joined the secretariat as treasurer a couple of years after her weekend and then stood down to be Lay Rector on #73 2017. When not working or being treasurer for 2 other charities or preparing for Reader duties, she is wife, mum and grandma to 3 gorgeous toddlers.
Secretary - Bernard Ory.
Bernard lives in Mansfield and worships at St Edmund’s Mansfield Woodhouse, where he is the PCC secretary.
After his Cursillo weekend in 2013, he felt a calling to help with the Syrian refugees in Mansfield. The charity Maun Refuge helps the 8 Syrian Families here and Bernard has befriended one of the families – He finds it really interesting to see how different their culture is from ours!
Bernard volunteers at the National Holocaust Centre at Laxton one day a week (pre-lockdown) and works with the Chaplaincy at Mansfield Hospitals.
He is forever busy, but in free time listens to contemporary jazz whilst cooking.
Pre Cursillo Rep with special responsibility for Safeguarding - Hilary Sykes.
Hilary loves the Lord, her family and all that God has made! She is the East Midlands rep. for BACC. She loves chocolate, working with children and singing !
Hilary did her Cursillo weekend #74 in May 2019 and is a very enthusiastic Cursillesta, with a special emphasis on the Fourth Day.

Treasurer - Irene Milburn.
Irene was born in London and lived and worked there until she moved to Peterborough to work for The Leprosy Mission. As the Mission was an inter-denominational Christian organisation with staff from many different churches and styles of worship, she gained a broad education of church life. She first attended a Baptist Church there but found that an Anglican service suited her better. She saw a local Ultreya meeting advertised and enquired what this was. She was asked to go on a weekend to learn about Cursillo and decided - “well why not!”
That was over 17 years ago. Over the following few years she went from not wanting to be involved in major church roles to training in the Diocese of Peterborough as a Lay Pastoral Minister. She is convinced that God used the Cursillo weekend to plant seeds. Although she now worships at a Methodist Church in Nottingham she still has a heart for the Anglican Eucharist and Cursillo. It was worth saying “well why not” to God.
